On the 10th day of Christmas, the gamers said to me: What are three things you want gamers to know about games for the new year?
On the 11th day of Christmas, the gamers said to me: List two games you’d improve
On the 12th day of Christmas, the gamers said to me: Tell us the one best reason to play video games
Wow. I’m feeling quite emotional about this being the last day. Well, lets get to it! The one best reason to play video games is:
Because you enjoy them
Sound a bit too simple? Well it isn’t.
If you don’t enjoy them, don’t play them. If you’re not enjoying the game you’re playing right now, consider not playing it anymore. Enjoyment means a lot of things. Video games can make you laugh, they can make you cry, they can make you smile in recognition of tiny details, they can frustrate with their difficulty and offer great rewards for your efforts if you can only get that far. All these things can be enjoyable in their own ways, but it is only worth playing them if you enjoy some aspect of them.
Enjoyment of video games can be something you like to keep to yourself. It can be something you share with all of your friends or maybe only one or two really special people. It can be playing games with your kids, or maybe your parents. It can be losing yourself in a game world when everything in the real world seems to suck or it can be learning new skills and experiencing the thrill of competition. Video games take up precious time in our short lives and whatever your life is like, whatever else you do, you should do what you enjoy, OK?
So there we go. The Twelve Days of Blogmas is officially over. I can’t tell you enough just how much I’ve enjoyed taking part in this, and want to say a really really big thank you to Athena from AmbiGaming for putting together such a wonderful community project. Until next time…
Thanks for reading,

Games DO take up your time, so why waste it on something you’re not enjoying? Well said.
