Hello dear readers and welcome to another festive post here on Shoot the Rookie! Today I am taking part in a fantastic Secret Santa event called the Creative Christmas Collab and this post is my gift to the wonderful blogger who is my Secret Santee (?). So come join me to find out all about this very cool person!
First though let’s build the suspense some more! Before I reveal who this post is for I want to say a big thank you to the organiser of this lovely community event, the one and only Chris Durston. Readers who have been following the blog for a while will know that Chris is a long term friend of Shoot the Rookie and so it was a delight to see him organise this event to bring a bit of festive cheer to the blogging community in what is undoubtedly a difficult time for everyone. So thank you Chris!
But now to the real business! The blogger I drew out of the hat for this event is none other than the marvellous NekoJonez from NekoJonez’s Gaming Blog!

Jonez is a blogger I’ve known for a long time and someone who has been around in this community for much longer than I have, so to say he is an experienced blogger is something of an understatement! I’ve always known his blog to be super professional, informative, diligently researched and that it features a wide variety of games. One of the things which is a real feature of his site are the awesome reviews he does, which I really like because I don’t write reviews myself so it is always great to have a site to go to which offers such interesting and thorough ones.
Speaking of reviews, the article which Jonez has put forward for this event is a very cool ‘first impressions’ review of the game Terraria. I didn’t know much about the game before reading this but now I feel like I really get what the game is about because the review is super in-depth. I love the discussion that Jonez gets into about the comparisons between Terraria and Minecraft, and I also really liked that he wasn’t afraid to nitpick about it even though he seems to really like it. It is also awesome that he took time to discuss difficulty in the game – of course that is something I’m particularly interested in! Overall I think Jonez does an awesome job of reviewing this game because he makes the effort to look at pretty much every aspect of the game, and provides readers with all they need to know about it before deciding whether or not to play it!

Apart from this awesome article, Jonez has a TON of other content and one thing that always comes to mind when I think of Jonez is his fantastic collaborations. He has previously organised writing collaborations around both Zelda and Tomb Raider, and rather excitingly he is currently working on a new one which focusses on the Pokémon series which is going to be one of THE things to look out for next year!
I’m pretty sure most of you already follow Jonez on various social medias, but if not definitely go and check out his Twitter (@NekoJonez) and Instagram (@nekojonez1). There you will discover not only fabulous gaming content, but also (if you hadn’t already guessed from his name) CATS! Very nice cats!
So there we are! I had a blast writing this Secret Santa post all about NekoJonez and I hope I managed to give a bit of festive cheer with it! Thanks again to Chris for organising this and Merry Christmas to you all! I hope to be back soon with more festive fun!
Thanks for reading,
